EASY-TO-COOK CHICKEN KORMA

I’m a big fan of non-veg dishes and love cooking it. But sometimes I’ve craving for non-veg items, but feels lazy to cook and I think, everyone those who are living alone experience such a situation. Everyone then goes to a hotel, which is not bad for occasional stuff but not fair for the pocket in a daily basis. But here is a a solution for such situation. This is an easy and quick chicken korma, with minimum ingredient with loads of taste. Chicken korma excellent to have with Roti or Naan and even Plain Rice. Onion Salad & Curd Raita adds to the taste when have along with Chicken Korma.


Ingredients:-

1. Chicken- ½ kg, medium size pieces
2. Onion- 2 nos., medium size (grinded with into paste)
3. Whole Garam Masala
  - pepper- 4-5 corns
  - cloves- 2
  - cinnamon- ½"
  - cardamom- 2
  - cumin seeds- ½ tsp.
4. Ginger garlic paste- 3 tsp.
5. Black pepper powder- ½ tsp.
6. Garam masala powder- ½ tsp.
7. Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp.
8. Red chili powder- 1 tsp. (depending on your spice level)
9. Coriander powder- 1tsp.
10. Green chilies- 3 nos., cut lengthwise
11. Coriander leaves- a handful, chopped
12. Salt- to taste
13. Curd- 2 tbsp.
14. Oil- 5-6 tbsp.
15. Water- 3-4 cups

Method:-

1. Heat oil in a pan and add Whole Garam Masala (4-5  pepper corns, 2 cloves, 1/2" cinnamon, 1 Black Cardamon, 1/2 tsp Black cumin{Shah zeera} , 1 green cardamon), followed by onion paste and saute well.

2. When onion turn light brown, add ginger garlic paste, and saute it on low flame till smell of ginger garlic diminishes.

3. Now add pepper powder, garam masala, tumeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder & salt. Saute it for 1 minute in low flame

4. Now add Curd and stir well.

5. Add in Chicken pieces and stir well until masala get well coated on it

6. Now add in ½ a cup of water and cook on medium flame till oil separates.

7. Then add green chilies and half of chopped coriander leaves and stir well

8. Add 3 cups of water and mix it. Now cover it with a lid and allow to cook on Medium flame for 10 minutes.

9. Then open the lid & cook till you the gravy has become thick, or your desired consistency.

10. Garnish with remaining coriander leaves and serve hot.
